A.C.E.S. can provide you with work in all of Perth’s major private and public metropolitan hospitals. To explore in more detail the different hospitals that we cater. If you are looking for Country Hospital work we can also assist, via our associated agencies.

Do I have a choice as to which hospital I go to?

Absolutely! A.C.E.S. encourage our staff to inform us of their preferences. We want our nurses to have the flexibility in choosing where and when they work and to be comfortable in the work environment in which they are placed. Your choices are extremely valuable to us so never hesitate to let us know if you like a particular hospital or ward or are keen to broaden your horizons.

What do I wear?

We provide you with at least one uniform to get you started from a choice of styles. Staff must provide their own navy skirt or trousers and enclosed non-slip shoes. Jewellery must be kept to a minimum and all staff are required to maintain a professional standard of dress. Your nursing identification badge provided by A.C.E.S. should be worn at all times.

Is there much work?

At the moment there is limited work available however it is always good to enrol to make sure you can start immediately once work starts to increase(enrolling is free! and no obligations.)

The standard shift times are as follows.
Morning Shift: 0700-1330 hrs
Afternoon Shift: 1500-2130 hrs
Night Duty: 2115-0715 hrs

These hours may slightly differ depending on each hospital. When you are booked, you will be informed of the specific hours of that booking. It may also be possible to negotiate starting and finishing times depending on the hospital and their requirement at the time.

Can I refuse work?

Yes! Agency work is about flexibility; therefore if you are offered a shift that does not suit your availability or preferences, you can most definitely refuse that shift. The ACES team will only call you at the end of the week for your  availabilities or unless you have given us instructions otherwise. If you do need to cancel a shift due to unforeseen circumstances we do ask that staff give us adequate notice so that we have enough time to find someone to replace you. This will be explained in detail to you at the interview.

Are pre-bookings available?

There are many pre-bookings available in a variety of the Private hospitals we service. The pre-booking system allows you to plan ahead in terms of structuring your agency work. Hospitals do however have the right to cancel pre-bookings up to two hours before the commencement of the shift. In these circumstances A.C.E.S. will immediately endeavor to find you a replacement shift so that you do not miss out on work.

Can I self book?

Shifts can be negotiated between you and the Private Hospitals Managers, however it is necessary for us to confirm the booking with both you and the Hospital. It is therefore appreciated if staff ensure they notify the office of any self booked shifts or change in their hours worked. Most importantly this ensures you receive the correct pay.

When do I get paid?

You no longer have to wait for fortnightly payments. A.C.E.S does their pay run on a weekly basis. All shifts worked in the previous week are paid on Tuesday, therefore even if you work a Sunday night shift you get paid on Tuesday.

Do you pay superannuation?

Yes! ACES pays Superannuation into your nominated fund, in addition to your quoted rate of pay. If you earn more than $450.00 in a month you are eligible for superannuation payments at a rate of 9%. A.C.E.S. is happy to forward your superannuation to the fund of your choice ,alternatively we utilize Hesta as a preferred fund. We do not lock you into a fund that we have chosen, but once again you have the choice. Please note however that  government superannuation funds do not allow private employers to contribute to their fund.
